A career in magazines
With over 20 years’ of experience in the magazine industry, I know just how to craft beautiful, on-brand content and magazines. I started out as an editorial assistant when such jobs were advertised in The Guardian, and quickly worked my way up. Thanks to my can-do attitude, I became editor of my first magazine at just 26. I then joined Ideal Home, where I was mentored by the fabulous interiors legend Isobel McKenzie-Price, whom I learnt so much from, working first as her interiors editor, then her deputy.
But still I was hungry for more, and when TI Media wanted to launch a stylish-yet-affordable homes magazine, I had the perfect concept to win over the TI Media board. Style at Home was an overnight success – and at the peak of a recession. I do like to prove people wrong. After several happy years developing the brand and commercial extensions, I knew that I wanted to work on fresh new projects – from the ground up – and so my freelance story began in 2016.
